New telehealth service to offer competitive vet care
A new telehealth service is now offering competitive veterinary care in Canada, aiming to address rising vet costs and improve access

Dial A Vet, an Australian telehealth veterinary service, has expanded into Canada, the USA, and the UK, offering 24/7 access to consultations with licensed Australian veterinarians. The service, priced at $49 CAD in Canada, aims to provide affordable veterinary care, particularly in areas with limited access to traditional clinics.
Founded by Josh Fidrmuc, Dial A Vet connects pet owners with licensed Australian veterinarians through secure video calls for guidance on pet health, behaviour, and preventative care. While the service cannot issue prescriptions in these new markets due to legal restrictions, Dial A Vet claims to resolve over 90 per cent of pet owners’ concerns through consultations.
The service is designed to address the rising costs of veterinary care, offering an alternative to in-person visits, especially for rural or busy pet owners. With pet ownership growing in Canada, the USA, and the UK, this expansion provides new competition for local veterinary practices.
“Pet owners deserve peace of mind without breaking the bank,” Fidrmuc says. “We’re here to support, not replace, local vets.”
