The Canadian Animal Health Institute has launched its second-annual “Cutest Pets on Parliament Hill” photo contest, celebrating the cherished companionship of pets amidst the political hustle and bustle. This unique contest invites parliamentarians, staffers, members of the press gallery, and Hill affiliates to showcase their beloved pets, for the chance to win the title of the cutest pet on the Hill.

Dr. Catherine Filejski, CEO of the Canadian Animal Health Institute, says, “We can’t wait to see the incredible diversity of pets and personalities that grace Parliament Hill. Whether they have paws, hooves, fur, feathers, or scales, each pet brings something special to the table, and we’re thrilled to shine a spotlight on the important role they play in our lives.”

Participants have until May 3 to submit a photo of their pet. A panel of judges will select the top 10 entries based on criteria such as cuteness, creativity, personality, and a connection to Canada. Following this selection, the public will have the opportunity to vote for their favourites in each category: dog, cat, and other pet. The winners will be crowned at a special ceremony in Ottawa on June 11.
