- Nodular regeneration, hematoma, hemangiosarcoma, lymphoma, etc.
- Hemorrhage, disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) and ventricular premature contractions (VPC).
- Radiographs of the thorax (three views) and abdominal ultrasound. Scanning the heart for hemangiosarcoma also is a good idea.
