  1. Nodular regeneration, hematoma, hemangiosarcoma, lymphoma, etc.
  2. Hemorrhage, disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) and ventricular premature contractions (VPC).
  3. Radiographs of the thorax (three views) and abdominal ultrasound. Scanning the heart for hemangiosarcoma also is a good idea.
