Answer:
- It is important to draw up the lidocaine first.
- If you drew bupivacaine first, you might inadvertently cause some bupivacaine to end up inside the lidocaine vial.
- Lidocaine is not only used for local blocks. It is also used to treat VPCs.
- Injecting bupivacaine IV is not ideal because it is a cardiotoxic drug.
