The U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has agreed to relax some of the new border regulations for dogs coming from Canada, following efforts by Canadian federal officials. However, Canadian Health Minister Mark Holland continues to push for a full exemption, arguing that Canada has no dog-maintained rabies virus.

U.S. revises dog travel requirements

The United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have released new regulations for all dogs, including service dogs, arriving in the U.S., including those travelling from Canada. As of Aug. 1, Canadian travellers crossing the border with their dogs must complete a CDC dog important form and ensure their furry companions are older than six months and microchipped.
