Calgary-based cat AI Tech firm, Sylvester.ai has been selected to attend VivaTech 2025, led by SCALE AI, as part of Canada’s AI Global Innovation Cluster, in Paris from June 11 to 14, 2025.

VivaTech drives forward innovation by bringing together startups, industry leaders, global corporations, and investors to tackle the most pressing challenges facing the world today.

Held annually over four  days in Paris, VivaTech hosts Europe’s largest gathering of the tech and startup community—showcasing cutting-edge technologies, unveiling groundbreaking launches, and dialogue through conferences in a collaborative environment.

“We are honoured to represent Canadian innovation alongside other visionary companies at VivaTech 2025,” says Sylvester.ai  founder and CEO Susan Groeneveld . “This mission provides a unique opportunity to globalize feline healthcare while highlighting how Canadian AI technology is transforming veterinary care worldwide.”

Sylvester.ai is a smartphone-based, proprietary app that identifies feline pain with 89 percent accuracy from a single photo. The technology is now being adopted by veterinary clinics throughout North America, Asia, and Europe.

Groeneveld, alongside a multidisciplinary team of data scientists, AI specialists, veterinarians, and animal behavior experts, created an AI-driven solution to address a troubling trend in North American pet healthcare.

Despite being found in one out of every three homes, cats are far less likely than dogs to receive consistent veterinary care. This disparity, first noticed by Groeneveld during her early work in the animal pharmaceutical industry, highlighted a broader, systemic issue: cats often receive significantly less medical attention and research investment than their canine counterparts.
