- The pin is too long proximally; it’s sticking out of the bone distally; the cerclage wire is not around the caudal cortex of the proximal bone fragment.
- The main issue is that the pin cannot address the rotational forces in this particular patient.
- A plate and screws would better address the forces that apply to the bone, starting with rotational forces.
