Fromm Family Foods has issued a voluntary recall of 300 cases of Bonnihill Farms BeefiBowls Beef Recipe dog food due to possible plastic contamination.

The company said the affected product is a gently cooked frozen dog food packaged in 16-ounce chubs with a best-before date of Dec. 25, 2026, and lot code B01. The UPC is 072705135004.

The recall applies to products distributed through neighbourhood pet stores in Ontario and several U.S. states.

Fromm Family Foods said no illnesses or injuries have been reported. However, dogs that ingest plastic may experience symptoms such as vomiting, loss of appetite, lethargy, or stomach discomfort. In severe cases, plastic consumption can lead to gastrointestinal upset or intestinal obstruction.

Consumers are advised to stop feeding the affected product and return it to the retailer. Those whose dogs show symptoms after consuming the product should contact a veterinarian.

The company said the recall was initiated after complaints of plastic contamination, and corrective measures have been implemented to prevent future issues.
