CSU to host health, wellness summit

Study: Yeast fermentate may prevent heat stress-related complications in livestock

Complications related to heat stress in livestock may be prevented by yeast fermentate, according to a study by Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine researchers. Specifically, the results indicate that the yeast fermentate may reduce harmful changes in gut structure that can lead to leaky gut syndrome.

Study backs cranberries as UTI fighter

Cranberry supplements and extracts are as effective as antibiotics in treating common canine urinary tract infections, researchers reported. An independent study of a powdered cranberry extract manufactured for pets by Canada-based Cranimals found the supplement performed the same as the antibiotic cephalexin in preventing urinary infections.
