Artificial beaver dams help restore wetlands and habitat in B.C.

The BC Wildlife Federation (BCWF) is tackling ecosystem restoration by building artificial beaver dams as part of its 10,000 Wetlands Project. More than 70 dams have already been installed across Interior waterways, with a goal of 100 by 2025. These manmade structures are helping restore vital freshwater habitats and support beaver populations.

Ontario’s Animal Welfare Services (AWS) is urging dog owners in Windsor to take immediate precautions following a viral outbreak of parvovirus that has already claimed the lives of 14 dogs. The outbreak began in downtown Windsor and has spread to surrounding areas, leaving veterinary professionals on high alert.
