Canadian veterinary community gears up for RVT Month
Celebrated coast-to-coast in October, RVT Month is a collaboration between RVTTC and provincial organizations
Registered veterinary technicians and technologists (RVTs) are an essential part of the animal health-care community, which is why October has been designated National RVT Month.
In recognition, Registered Veterinary Technologists and Technicians of Canada (RVTTC) is highlighting the crucial service of the profession and showcasing the many fields of veterinary medicine RVTs may pursue.
Among the highlights of the month-long celebration is a career-boosting initiative from online veterinary community CommuniVET. Now in its second year, the virtual event, “RVT PWR – Embrace your strength,” aims to empower RVTs across Canada through continuing education (CE) and networking. (To register, click here.)
Additionally, for the fifth year, RVTTC has partnered with Canadian veterinary nutraceutical supplier UbaVet on a social media contest, which will see 20 gift cards ($100 each) awarded throughout October. (For more information, click here.)
Celebrated coast-to-coast, RVT Month is a collaboration between RVTTC and provincial organizations, including the British Columbia Veterinary Technologists Association (BCVTA), the Alberta Veterinary Technologist Association (ABVTA), the Saskatchewan Association of Veterinary Technologists (SAVT), the Manitoba Veterinary Technologists Association (MVTA), the Ontario Association of Veterinary Technicians (OAVT), the Eastern Veterinary Technicians Association (EVTA), and the Association des Techniciens en Santé Animale du Québec (ATSAQ).
Veterinary teams are also encouraged to launch their own activities and post on social media with the hashtags #ProudlyRVT, #ThankanRVT, #RVTMonth, #WeAreRVTs, and #AskForRVTs.
