Yukon to receive new veterinary telemedicine service

Ontario-based VETSon, an online veterinary platform seeking to connect farmers to veterinarians, has recently announced their intentions to expand into the Yukon. Yukon residents using VETSon will have access to veterinarians in Ontario for real-time, remote services, including virtual on-farm visits, coordination of medication and supply orders, and reliable, traceable records.

30,000-year-old baby woolly mammoth heads to Ottawa

In 2022, miners excavating Yukon’s Klondike goldfields discovered the almost perfectly preserved remains of a baby woolly mammoth. Hidden under layers of permafrost, the 30,000-year-old prehistoric mammal was the first complete baby mammoth to be found in North America—and only the second in the world. She will now be accompanied by a delegation of Indigenous elders to the Canadian Conservation Institute in Ottawa for preservation.
