Ontario theme park Marineland is making headlines again regarding the care of its animals.

The province’s Ministry of the Solicitor General has laid charges against the Niagara Falls, Ont., attraction out of concern for the care of its black bears.

“Marineland of Canada, Inc., in Niagara Falls, Ontario, has been charged with three counts of failing to comply with an order related to the care of American black bears,” says Brent Ross, a spokesman for the ministry, according to CBC News[2].

The charges have been laid under a section of the Provincial Animal Welfare Services Act, which allows an inspector to issue an order to help animals that may be in distress. If the facility does not comply with the order, it will face charges.

The ministry declined to provide more details, citing the court case. Additionally, Marineland has yet to comment on the issue.
