A veterinarian from Ontario’s Muskoka region is this year’s recipient of the Ontario Veterinary Medical Association’s (OVMA’s) Rising Star Award.
Molly Robinson, DVM, of Gravenhurst, Ont., was presented with the honour at the association’s annual conference and trade show. An alumnus of Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine (RUSVM) in St. Kitts, Dr. Robinson graduated top of her class in 2017 before joining Gravenhurst Animal Hospital as an associate veterinarian.
“Dr. Robinson’s work ethic is second to none,” says her colleague, Patricia Anders, DVM. “She works tirelessly at our very busy, high-volume clinic to ensure each and every patient receives the best care possible—even if it requires her to work through lunch hours or stay late, she does so on her own accord, letting her passion for this profession shine through.”
Specifically, OVMA cites an incident last year when a dog was brought into Gravenhurst Animal Hospital after being hit by a car and surrendered to the clinic. Robinson volunteered her time and personal funds to ensure the animal’s full recovery and rehabilitation before re-homing it.
“Dr. Robinson is truly a rising star in this profession—it is a rare privilege to work with someone as kind, intelligent, and hard-working as she is,” Dr. Anders says.
