VCA Canada has been named one of Alberta’s Top Employers for 2026, marking the organization’s third consecutive appearance on the annual list.

The nationwide veterinary care provider, part of the Mars Veterinary Health network, received the recognition in a competition organized by the editors of Canada’s Top 100 Employers.

The annual Alberta’s Top Employers selection highlights organizations with provincial head offices that demonstrate industry‑leading workplace practices.

Employers are assessed based on eight criteria, including health and wellness benefits, work culture, professional development, and community involvement.

Cathy Gaviller, general manager of VCA Canada, stated that the acknowledgement reflects the dedication of the company’s staff and the culture they contribute to fostering.

“Their teamwork, inclusive culture, and support for one another are the inspiring foundation of our genuine commitment to providing high-quality veterinary care and making a meaningful difference in the lives of pets and their families,” Gaviller said.

Editors highlighted VCA Canada’s employee engagement and development programs as important factors in their choice.

The organization offers referral bonuses, mentoring opportunities, leadership training, and tuition subsidies. Its community program, Paw It Forward, was also praised for increasing access to essential pet care, such as food support and vaccination clinics for pets in need across the country.

VCA Canada says the recognition aligns with its goal of creating a “better world for pets” while fostering workplace environments that promote growth, innovation, and excellence in veterinary medicine.
